Export performance in early 2016 continued to slow down. in January 2016, exports registered USD 10.5 billion, down 11.9% compared to the previous month (MoM) or down 20.7% compared to January last Year (YoY).

Trade Balance 2015 Returns to Surplus After 3 Consecutive Years of Deficit

Export performance in December 2015 amounted to USD 11.9 billion, increased by 7.0% compared to the previous month (MoM) as it was driven by widening non-oil and gas exports by 10.1% to USD 10.6 billion.

Mining Exports in February 2014 Plummeted, Suppressing National Exports

Mining export in 2014 has indicated a drastic decrease. In February, mining exports registered a decline of 29.1% compared to the same corresponding period in 2013 (YoY), or 12.9% compared to January 2014 (MoM).

Stronger Export in October Resulting Surplus on Balance of Trade

Trade balance of October 2013 recorded a surplus of USD 42.4 million, consisting of non-oil trade surplus of USD 792.2 million and oil and gas trade deficit of USD 749.8 million. Overall, trade balance for January to October 2013 was a deficit of USD 6.4 billion that comprises of non-oil surplus of USD 4.3 billion and oil and gas deficit of USD 10.6 billion.

Non-oil Surplus Is Expected to Increase until End of 2013

NEWSletter – November 2013

Trade balance of September 2013 indicated a deficit of USD 657.2 million, after showing a surplus of USD 71.7 million the previous month. The deficit in September was driven by the oil trade deficit of USD 1.2 billion (mom deficit of USD 1.0 billion) and non-oil trade surplus of USD 496.8 million (mom surplus of USD 1.0 billion).
